Most of our photography backdrops don't need much retouching, but I'll use one that is the exception to show you an easy trick: levitation! Just tape the corners of your backdrop to anchor it, have your camera on a mount or tripod, and first take a picture of the backdrop.
Then put your subject on the backdrop (walk lightly so as not to disturb the original hang) and sit them on a stool in the appropriate position.
Finally, in Photoshop put the stool layer on top of the empty backdrop layer. Use the Magnet Tool to select the appropriate area and erase out the stool and the shadows (which will make the final picture look unrealistic if left in). On most backdrops you'd be pretty much done, but on this one we wanted to add a little extra vintage effect so we applied some filters and color changes, finally leaving it looking something like this.
